Town Services and PoliciesRelocating to a new town can be a hectic and confusing time. Finding the answers to questions such as “What do I need to do to get water service connected?” or “Which cable company services this area?” can be difficult without the proper resources. The following will hopefully help provide answers to some of those questions. To get water service in the Town of Troy you must come by the Town Hall at 315 North Main Street to fill out an application. You will need to bring two forms of identification, normally your drivers license and social security card. Persons who are renting need to bring a rent receipt or rental agreement from the landlord. The Town charges a meter deposit of $50.00 for property owners and $75.00 for those who rent. If you have any questions please contact Town Hall at (910) 572-3661. Water Service Policy Cable service in Troy is provided by Charter Communications, 1-866-472-2200. Progress Energy provides electrical service, 1-800-452-2777. Garbage service is provided by the Town who contracts this service out to Allied Waste Services. Garbage pickup in Troy is Friday. Either call or view Troy's Garbage and Refuse Policy for specific information on container size and other requirements. Phone service is provided by CenturyLink. Dial 811 to speak to a representative for service.
