Troy’s Public Works Department provides a wide range of services for our citizens. They are called upon for everything from water and sewer emergencies to picking up leaves in the fall. The Public Works Department is responsible for servicing many miles of water and sewer lines, maintenance and repair of Troy’s streets and sidewalks, and providing yard and household waste pickup. Allied Waste Industries also handles solid waste collection on a contract basis. Troy has a recycling site located in the Liberty Street Parking Lot (Behind First Bank).

Items for recycling include aluminum cans, steel food cans, tin and steel aerosol cans (empty), glass bottles (clear, green & brown), phone books, office paper, cardboard – non waxed (must be broken down and flattened) and plastic bottles # 1 and # 2.
