Frequently Asked Question About the Census

Census

One of the main questions people have about the census is that they have not received anything in the mail.  The one common denominator that they have is that they all have post office boxes. Without the form and their specific number how do they fill out the survey?

A lot of people with post office boxes and/or who live in very rural areas fall into the category of "update leave". That’s where someone from the Census Bureau hand delivers the invitation to respond that most everyone else received by mail. Due to COVID-19 we had to postpone that operation. But that’s ok because they do NOT need the invitation to respond. We strongly encourage them to respond online at www.my2020census.gov or by phone at 1-844-330-2020. It will ask you if you have your census ID from the invitation. You simply say "no". Then it will ask for your address instead. Responding asap is the best way to ensure someone from the Census Bureau doesn’t show up at their home.

Make sure to respond, everyone needs to be counted. It helps all of our communities !
